Race for Rett Syndrome (R4R)
Loretta Lynn's AMA Amateur National Championships
Orange, CA

Kevin and Allison Foley of Orange, CA hosted the first ever Race for Rett Syndrome (R4R) in honor of their daughter Emma Lindsey Foley, age 3. Kevin is a 9 time AMA Amateur National Motocross Champion and raced this year at the Loretta Lynn's AMA Amateur National Championships not only for his 10th title, but more importantly to raise awareness and research dollars for Rett Syndrome. Family, friends, colleagues and other dedicated individuals pledged dollars for each lap Kevin completed. Kevin placed 4th overall after a hard week of racing, but more importantly, with over 140 donors, he raised over $25,000 for RSRF. To top off the event, the reigning AMA Professional Supercross and Motocross Champion, Ricky Carmichael, wore custom pants bearing "R4R" at the 11th round of the AMA National Motocross Championships. He then signed the gear and gave it to Kevin and Allison to auction off to raise additional funds. The auction will take place in the next couple months and notification will be through their website, www.Race4Rettmx.com.
