19th Annual Buddha's Basketball Blowout Going to the Rack for Rett Syndrome

Event Description
On Saturday, March 10, 2007, 52 basketball players and 150 spectators gathered at Hoops the Gym in Chicago, IL for the 19th Annual Buddha's Basketball Blowout. More than $19,000 was raised for RSRF! Event Description
The 1st Annual Dress up 2 Cure Day on April 1, 2007 was a big success! The event raised $32,000 for Rett syndrome research. There were five active teams with events going on all over the place! Tea parties, raffles, dances, lunches, school dress-up days, bake sales and more! A special thank you goes to Team Kindell, Team Quinn, Team Sophie, Team Ellie, and Team Sarah. A huge thank you to all of their extended family and friends who participated! The event was organized by Ingrid Harding, of Girl Power 2 Cure, Inc.

Sweet "Egg"stinction of Rett Syndrome and the Trenton MM Puppet Team

Event Description
On April 4, 2007 the Trenton FUMC MM Puppet Team from Trenton, IL gave two performances to raise money for RSRF and Sophie Kreher (RTT). The event, titled "Sweet Egg-change for the Egg-stinction of Rett Syndrome," raised $1,000! During the puppet show over 750 Easter eggs were given out to the students. Within each egg, students received not only candy, but also information about Rett Syndrome. They were instructed to fill the empty Easter eggs with their donation. The students were very generous, as was the MM Puppet Team!

Event Description
A special thank you goes to Team Running for Rett and Jane Bagley, of Braintree, MA. Jane, and a group of runners, trained and ran in the 111th Boston Marathon, held on April 16, 2007. The group gathered a few days prior to the race at a pre-Marathon party held to raise funds for research. The party, which gathered family and friends of Jillian Endres (RTT), proved successful, raising just over $11,000 through the sales of tickets, a silent auction, and live auction.

Once again, Talbot Elementary School had a wonderful and successful Hat Day. Children brought $1 or more in order to wear a hat to school on April 27th, 2007. $850 was raised for RSRF. A special thank you to all participants and to Dr. Suzy Colvin, Principal.

Event Description
The Men of Light from The Light of Christ United Methodist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina held its First Annual RSRF Golf Tournament April 28th at the Waterford Golf Club in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The Golf Tournament was successful in raising $1,800 for Rett research. The main sponsor for the 2007 tournament was the Charlotte Weekly/Union County Weekly, a local newspaper.

Event Description
DKNY, of Newbury Street in Boston, MA, was the site for an elegant evening of shopping and fundraising. Susan Fitzpatrick, close friend of Jane and Caroline Joyce (RTT) and a loyal RSRF supporter, organized the event which was held on May 3, 2007. Shoppers were treated to a fashion talk by Jill Radsken, Boston Herald Fashion Editor, yummy hors d'oeuvres and cool cocktails. DKNY generously offered a 15% discount to all shoppers and then donated 15% of the evenings proceeds back to RSRF. The event raised more than $3000. Many thanks to Desiree Pregnolato and Ann Ogunsulire of DKNY for their support.

Event Description
Salvatore Ferragamo, at Bal Harbour Shops in Miami, FL, hosted a Reach for a Cure shopping event to benefit the Rett Syndrome Research Foundation. More than 200 people attended the event which raised over $36,000 for RTT research. The Allocco's daughter, Ava, is diagnosed with Rett syndrome and the family has worked diligently to spread awareness of the disorder and raise funds to support research seeking a treatment or cure.

Event Description
The Stroll and Roll for Kylie in Duri, Sumatra, Indonesia was a huge success. We were able to raise over 8,000 dollars in a very small community. The Stroll and Roll was followed by a carnival complete with dunk tank, face painting, henna, fortune-telling and a variety of games. It was an amazing day that left everyone feeling happy and excited about what we had done to help Rett Research. Kylie truly inspired people to come together for a good cause and she loved being the star for the day. Way to go Duri!

Race for Grace Strollathon at Narragansett, Rhode Island

Event Description
The first ever Race for Grace Strollathon, honoring Grace Reddington, drew nearly 2,000 participants of all ages and raised over $135,000. It was an overwhelmingly exciting day for everyone involved. A "Blessing of the Feet" occurred immediately prior to the start of the Strollathon. A sea of runners, walkers, strollers, and rollers cascaded out of the St. Veronica Church parking lot, in Narragansett, RI. Participants completed a picturesque 5K and gathered together afterwards for face painting, music, tattoos, a silent auction, and raffle. A special thank you to the Reddington Family, who received Grace's diagnosis just a few months before this amazing event.

Event Description
The 3rd Annual Cape Cod Strollathon took place on June 2, 2007 in South Yarmouth on Cape Cod. We had beautiful weather as well as a record breaking crowd! Over 1,000 attendees participated in the fun-filled event. Approximately 30 Rett families attended, coming from all over New England and from as far as Virginia! By the end of the event over $120,000 was raised with donations still coming in daily! Jennifer and Justin Endres would like to thank their family, friends, and everyone who took part for making this year's event extra special!

Event Description
The 1st Annual Boston Strollathon was held on June 3, 2007 in Needham, MA. Paula Curley, along with help from Irene Gladstone and Maria McTernan, chaired the event. The 1 mile walk was followed by a cook out and entertainment provided by The Jim Show. The event brought together approximately 200 participants and raised $24,000. This Strollathon replaced the annual Chef's Classic, typically held in Sharon, MA. Thank you to the Curley Family for all of your hard work!

Event Description
Over 100 people came out Sunday, June 10, 2007 for the 3rd Annual West Michigan Rett Syndrome Research Charity Golf Tournament. We had beautiful weather; sunny and 80 degrees! We had four special guests come out for the day, Chelsea Jauch (10, RTT), Marina Knapp (8, RTT), Maiya Novitsky (4, RTT) and Becky Gole (RTT), who just turned 30! With everyone's help the outing net more than $8,000, bringing our three year net total to over $30,000!

Event Description
On Saturday, June 16, 2007, friends of Macy Walker (RTT) came together to raise funds for Rett syndrome research. A group of ten men participated in the Camp Pendelton Mud Run in San Diego, CA. The group ran in honor of Macy, with the special name of Team Race for Mace. After the run, team captain, Ryan Woods, hosted a party for 200 of Macy's friends and family members. There was food, drinks, a DJ, and a washer board tournament. This 2nd Annual Race for Mace raised $14,000! The Walker family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Ryan for his dedication and commitment to finding a cure for Macy and all of the other girls and women affected by Rett syndrome.

Event Description
The 2nd Annual Ride for Rett, held on August 4, 2007. The 54 participants were comprised of 19 bikes with 22 riders, 10 cars with 31 people, and 2 girls diagnosed with Rett syndrome. The group left Morrison, CO shortly after 8:30 in the morning beneath the spectacular blue Rocky Mountain sky. They wound their way through the mountains and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. The ride ended just after noon in the town of Cripple Creek, where a raffle was held for all participants. Thank you to the organizers of the event, Don Schulman, Mike Booth, and Troy Dertina!

Event Description
IRSF would like to thank Mike McGrath, chairperson of the 6th Annual Rip it for Rett Golf Tournament, for his commitment to the foundation. Approximately 100 people turned out for this event, held on August 10, 2007, at the Townsend Ridge Golf Course in Townsend, MA. The day was made extra special by all of the family and friends in attendance that care so much about finding a cure for Rett syndrome. The Hughson Family, along with daughter, Jennifer (RTT), enjoyed the wonderful event. They would like to thank the Townsend Ridge Golf Course as well as Mike Hughson and Hughson Electric for the generosity they showed by sponsoring the awards dinner.
